A Set Top Box is a device that allows users to view video content from specific internet video providers the internet. Also known as a Set Top Unit, these boxes convert a digital television signal to analog to be viewed on a conventional television set, or enable cable or satellite television to be viewed.
Whether it be radio, LAN, or otherwise, an antenna is extremely important. The antenna’s primary function is to transmit and receive clear signals between multiple wireless points. It is safe to say that an effective and efficient wireless network will require antennas to operate properly.
Satellite antennas are universal. They can work with any box. I.E. Your tata sky antenna can work with the Catvision dish tv set top box and all other DTH.
You just need one more LNB along with the set-top box, then just arrange that lnb just beside the right side of Tata sky`s LNB switch on ur other receiver and check for signals you can easily find dd direct plus signals on the same dish antenna and enjoy dd direct channels too.
Dish TV (or any other’s brand) Set Top Box are not sold separately. They come along with Dish, LNB, and other accessories, as a connection. Dish TV receives signals from 3 satellites and hence, uses a special LNB called Monobloc (provided only with HD Premium connections of Dish TV).
Another thing, Let's assume You are currently using Airtel DTH and you buy a dd-free STB. Now, whenever you want to switch from dd to airtel you have to change the dish alignment every time.
